Topic

This half term our main topics are planting and under the sea. We will take a book based approach focussing our topics on key texts.  We start by using the book Oliver's Vegetables, looking at planting and growing. The children will be planting radishes and lettuces in the founcation garden. We will be using the text to explore how vegetables grow.

We will then spend one week looking at local History and Geography. The F2 children will be focussing on Netherthorpe Primary School. We will be exploring when the school was built and what life was like for the children who attended. We will also be comparing similarites and differences between school in the past and present. We will also explore maps using the book, Martha Maps it Out, creating our own maps of the local area.

Finally, we will finish the year looking at under the sea. Using the key book Hooray for Fish!
