Maths

In Nursery, we focus on the numbers 0-5.  The children practice counting, number recognition, subitising, number patterns, describing shapes and continuing patterns, in a short, daily Maths Meeting. 

We also learn more specific skills, for example:  sharing and measuring, in taught sessions, with lots of opportunities to practice new skills in provision.

We use Word Aware, to help children understand particular concept words.  We focus on a new concept word every week.

Every week the children play number track games.  This a really good, practical opportunty to practice and consolidate their developing mathematical skills.
