Roman Day

Y3 had a Roman Day on Wednesday 8th June. Each child was given a Roman name for the day and we all wore togas including Mrs Flannery and Mrs Merrick!

We studied Roman numerials during maths and learnt about the different Roman invasions of Britain in literacy.

Children also had a chance to try different foods the Romans would have eaten like grapes, olives, basil and currents.

We compared the lives of Romans to the Celts who we have recently been learning about. Finding out the similarities and differences between their lives. Most children decided they would rather be a Roman than a Celt.
