TEMPORARY YEAR 4 TEACHER TO COVER MATERNITY LEAVE.
Netherthorpe primary School is looking for a fulltime class teacher to cover Year 4 over a maternity leave for one year, or the earlier return from maternity leave of the current post holder, starting January 2024.
Netherthorpe Primary is a vibrant and inclusive one-form-entry school close to the heart of the city. We are looking for someone who cares for children and sees their education as something that includes, but is not limited to, academic achievement. We are seeking a class teacher who will work with our parents to ensure our pupils are happy, confident, kind and respectful of one another’s individuality. The teacher we recruit will have high aspirations, not only for their own career but for every single one of our children.
One of our strengths at Netherthorpe is the diversity of the community we serve. Our children love coming to school and share a passion for learning. The majority speak an additional language – at any one time there are approximately 23 different languages spoken across school. This creates rich and exciting learning opportunities for the whole school community.
We offer a supportive, positive environment with a committed staff team and enthusiastic children and parents. We are looking for someone who is well motivated and passionate, a team player who is also able to work independently using their own initiative.
We strive to create a safe, creative and inspiring learning environment, where each pupil develops a genuine love of learning and an inquiring mind. We place a strong importance on every pupil's personal, social and emotional development.
What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for someone who:
- Is an enthusiastic, hardworking and an excellent classroom practitioner.
- Has strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to work as part of a dedicated and successful team.
- Has high expectations and is committed to raising standards through inspiring and motivating our pupils.
- Is flexible, committed to our school values and willing to take a full part in the life of our school community.
What the school offers its staff
In return we can offer you
- Friendly, hardworking and supportive colleagues who are committed to children’s success across all areas of the curriculum.
- Enthusiastic and well-behaved children who are eager to learn.
- An engaging curriculum which allows our pupils to develop their communication skills, build resilience and become active learners.
