Literacy

We will start the term by looking at rhyme using the book Pass the Jam, Jim. We will look at rhyming strings such as cat, hat and bat. So children become able to recognise and use rhyming words. We will also be making jam sandwiches just like Jim! The children will learn to sequence the steps in making a sandwich - buttering the bread, spreading the jam. Our main focus is to improve children's vocabuarly and improve the number of key words they can use in a sentence.

We will then move on to focussing on the book Blue Penguin by Petr Horacek. We will be focussing on friendship and the qualities that make us all special.
